ARTISTS:
Are you an artist who wastes a lot of time making sure your art is screen printer friendly?
Have you ever wanted to reduce the colour palette of an image quickly and intelligently?
SCREEN PRINTERS:
Do you spend more time worrying about getting art trapped and separated than actually printing?
OTHER CRAFTERS:
Do you do:
Stencil art?
Embroidery?
Knitting Machine patterns?
Both trapping and colour reduction are valuable facilities for preparing artwork for a number of crafts, many of which I will have never anticipated
WHAT THIS SITE DOES:
Create trapped separations as individual black and white images, ordered by luminance (screen-printing layer order)
Intelligently reduce the colour palette of your image.
If your image has too many colours to be practical for screen printing, this utility can help identify an optimum palette, allow you to customise the palette, and then download the generated reduced colour PNG image.
This can not only help with images that were never intended to be screened, this can also help clean up images where anti-aliasing has been accidentally applied, or colours have been unintentionally blended.
There's even an interactive preview!
UPDATE:
Now quicker - All functionality should now be faster
Stable - The site should now be reliably working
Improved colour palette selection - Not only quicker, but also better colour choices
Improved separations - Not only quicker, but with cleaner results and nice tapered overlaps
Sacrifices - Have removed the stochastic dot generation and true progess indication
